This is an actual surviving old Bollywood movie poster of the 1989 film that starred the biggest superstar of Indian cinema, Amitabh Bachchan in a memorable double role (one as superhero “Toofan” and the other as a magician).
Printed and circulated during the first release of the film (somewhere in the late 1980s), this old Amitabh movie poster was originally designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
Toofan was produced by Manmohan Desai and directed by his son Ketan Desai. Amitabh Bachchan plays a superhero action figure in the film, using a crossbrow as a weapon.
This old Amitabh movie poster was originally designed by creating a collage of key photographic stills on a board by leading Bollywood poster designer Chandrakant of Studio Chandrakant fame. The typography and background elements are hand painted.

This is an actual surviving vintage poster of the 1986 film that featured the greatest actor in Indian cinema, Amitabh Bachchan in a double role.
It is believed that Aakhree Raasta was Amitabh Bachchan’s last release before he temporarily quit acting to enter into politics in 1984.
Printed and circulated somewhere during the release of the film, this old movie poster was originally designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
This poster was originally designed by cutting out images of actors from separate still photographs (shot on set location) and pasting them on a board. The typography is hand drawn / hand painted, which makes this poster an interesting mix of two very different design techniques.
In the poster, Amitabh Bachchan is seen in two different avatars – young and old. The two actresses Sridevi & Jayaprada appear on the top of the poster. The typography used in this poster is entirely in English except for a translation of the title on the bottom left. Colours as well as typeface used in the hand painted movie title give it a very action-oriented appearance.

The film opened to packed houses in 1986 and turned out to be a box office hit. Aakhree Raasta is believed to be superstar Amitabh Bachchan’s last hit before the decline in his career started. In the film, Amitabh plays both roles as a father and son effortlessly, making this one of the finest double role performances ever.

Printed and circulated somewhere during the release of the film, this vintage movie poster was originally designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
The film also stars south India’s biggest superstar of all time, Rajinikanth (the second highest paid actor in Asia after Jackie Chan), who plays the role of a police officer. South star Kamal Hassan also appears in the film, giving it an unbeatable star cast and making it a unique collaboration of three of the biggest superstars in India for the first time.
