Hand drawn Bollywood poster for sale of the classic Hindi film Apradh (1972).
This is an actual surviving vintage Bollywood movie poster of the 1972 classic action thriller produced and directed by Feroz Khan. The film starred Feroz Khan, Mumtaz, Prem Chopra, Iftekhar, Helen and Madan Puri.
Feroz Khan was often referred to as the “Clint Eastwood of the East” and the “Steve McQueen of India.” Apradh was Feroz Khan’s debut as a producer and a director and was the first Indian movie to depict car racing in Germany, making this hand drawn Bollywood poster highly collectible!
The film is famous for the Indian funk-rock song composed by Kalyanji Anandji and sung by Asha Bhosle, “Ae Naujawan Hai Sab.” This song is believed to be the basis of inspiration for the Grammy award winning hit released by The Black Eyed Peas in 2005, “Don’t Phunk with My Heart.”
Printed and circulated during the first release run of the film (somewhere in the early 1970s), this hand drawn Bollywood movie poster was originally designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
Feroz Khan is seen kissing actress Mumtaz on her cheek on the center of this hand drawn Bollywood poster. A doodled car racing sequence is seen in the background. The use of bright shades of yellow, red and blue give this retro hand drawn Bollywood poster a very catchy appearance.
