Fanaa poster for sale.
Featured here is an original Bollywood poster of the blockbuster 2006 romantic Hindi film directed by Kunal Kohli that starred Aamir Khan in the lead role opposite actress Kajol.
Produced by Yash Chopra and Aditya Chopra under their prestigious Yash Raj Films banner, Fanaa (2006) also starred Rishi Kapoor, Kirron Kher, Tabu, Sharat Saxena, Lillete Dubey, Shruti Seth, Sanaya Irani, Gautami Kapoor, Ahmed Khan, Satish Shah, Jaspal Bhatti, Vrajesh Hirjee and Suresh Menon in supporting roles. Shiney Ahuja and Lara Dutta made special appearances in the film.
The most expensive Bollywood film production at the time, Fanaa (2006) marked the first onscreen romantic pairing of Aamir Khan and Kajol. It was also the first casting of Aamir Khan in a Yash Raj Films venture. The film told the story of a blind Kashmiri dancer (Kajol) who falls in love with a Delhi tour guide (Aamir Khan) holding a dark secret.
Last seen in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001), Fanaa (2006) marked the onscreen return of Kajol after a hiatus of five years. At the 52nd Filmfare Awards, Kajol bagged Best Actress for her stellar performance in the film, making this Fanaa poster, highly collectible!
Printed and circulated during the film’s first release in theaters (somewhere in 2006), this Fanaa poster was originally designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
Aamir Khan and Kajol are seen in a large stunning close up facing each other romantically. The two are seen again romancing at India Gate, Delhi in the background.
Typography used in this Kajol poster is completely in English, except for the film’s title which is translated to both Devanagari Hindi as well as Urdu. The title of the film is seen in a faded brushstroke font.
The soundtrack album of Fanaa (2006) was composed by Jatin–Lalit, while lyrics were written by Prasoon Joshi. It became a rage throughout the nation upon it’s release. “Chand Sifarish Jo Karta Hamari” sung by Shaan and Kailash Kher remains popular till today.
