Featured here is an actual surviving original vintage movie poster of the old 1965 Tamil blockbuster directed by Tapi Chanakya that starred the biggest superstar of Tamil cinema, M.G. Ramachandran (MGR) in a double role opposite B. Saroja Devi and Rathna.
Produced by B. Nagi Reddi and Chakrapani, Enga Veettu Pillai (1965) also starred S.V. Ranga Rao, M.N. Nambiar, Pandari Bai, L. Vijayalakshmi, Madhavi, Seethalakshmi, Rushyendramani, K.A. Thangavelu, Nagesh, Hemalatha and Baby Shakila in supporting roles.
Enga Veettu Pillai (1965) was a remake of MGR’s hit Telugu film Ramudu Bheemudu (1964), which had his first ever double role. Sons of a wealthy landlord and benefactors to his estate, identical twins Ramu and Lakshmanan (both played by MGR) are separated during childhood at a festival. Lakshmanan is found by a childless couple who adopt him and name him Ilango. The twin brothers grow up in contrasting circumstances developing opposite personalities. Ramu grows up to be an innocent and cowardly man oppressed by his family, while Ilango (Lakshmanan) is courageous and strong. When they two reunite, they are able to overcome their enemies and regain their estate.
Printed and circulated during the debut release of the film in theaters (somewhere in 1965), this Enga Veettu Pillai poster was designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.

Typography used in this old MGR movie poster is entirely in Tamil, with the title appearing in a very creatively styled font in yellow accentuated with a black border.
The soundtrack album of Enga Veettu Pillai (1965) was composed by Viswanathan–Ramamoorthy. It featured the blockbuster hit song, “Naan Aanaiyittal.”
