Featured here is an original Bollywood movie poster of the memorable romantic comedy, Cheeni Kum (2007).

This is an actual surviving Amitabh poster of the 2007 Hindi film written and directed by R. Balki that featured the “One man Industry of Bollywood,” Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role. Actress Tabu played his love interest in the film, while Paresh Rawal, Zohra Sehgal, Swini Khara and Alexx O’Nell played supporting roles in the film.

Cheeni Kum was a pioneering film based on the sensitive subject of age gap romance. Actress Tabu’s character in the film, “Nina Verma,” falls in love with “Buddhadev Gupta” (Amitabh Bachchan), who is 30 years older than her. Her brilliant performance in the film won Tabu the critics award for Best Actress at the Filmfare Awards, making this Amitabh poster highly collectible!

Printed and circulated to celebrate the successful run of the film somewhere in 2007, this Amitabh movie poster was originally designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.

The three key characters of the film, Amitabh Bachchan, Tabu and Paresh Rawal are seen prominently in this Bollywood poster. Superstar Amitabh Bachchan is seen dressed as a chef sporting a ponytail, resting against a restaurant sign that reads, “Big Hit.” The words “Sugar Free Romance” appear at the bottom of this Amitabh film poster, giving away the comedy theme of the film.

The soundtrack of Cheeni Kum was composed by Ilaiyaraaja. The title song “Cheeni Kum” sung by Shreya Ghoshal is fondly remembered and played till today.
