Old Indian posters for sale: Joroo Ka Ghulam (1972).
This is an actual surviving rare vintage Bollywood poster of the old 1972 Hindi film that featured the “First Superstar” of Indian cinema Rajesh Khanna in the lead role opposite actress Nanda.
Directed by A. Bhimsingh, Joroo Ka Ghulam (1972) also starred Om Prakash, Achala Sachdev, Ramesh Deo, Manmohan Krishna and Iftekhar in supporting roles.
Printed and circulated a few years after the first release of the film (somewhere in the 1970s), this old Indian poster was originally designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
This vintage Bollywood poster was originally designed in hand painted oil on canvas format by an art studio in Delhi.
Superstar Rajesh Khanna is seen in an over painted still photo, seated on a swing wearing a pin striped suit in this old Indian poster. Actress Nanda is seen seated alongside, wearing a red saree and gold jewelry. The two seem to be in deep contemplation.
Typography used in this old Rajesh Khanna film poster is a mix of both Devanagari Hindi as well as English. The Hindi title of the film appears in a stunning yellow font on the top. The English title at the bottom is seen in an artistic red font outlined in yellow, with a heart and a set of eyes shaped into the letter “O” and lips below to complete the abstract picture of a woman.
The soundtrack album of Joroo Ka Ghulam was composed by hit music composer duo Kalyanji-Anandji and had gems like, “Aaiye Aapko Main Apne Bangle Ki Sair Karau” sung by one of the greatest playback singers in the history of Indian cinema, Kishore Kumar.
