Justice Chaudhury poster for sale.
Featured here is an actual surviving old Bollywood poster of the 1983 Hindi drama directed by K. Raghavendra Rao that starred Jeetendra in a double role (as Justice Chaudhary and Ramu) opposite Sridevi and Hema Malini.
Produced by G.A. Seshagiri Rao and presented by Krishna under the Padmalaya Combines banner, Justice Chaudhury (1983) also featured a stellar supporting star cast comprising Shakti Kapoor (also in a double role), Kader Khan, Moushumi Chatterjee, Raj Kiran, Rajendra Nath, Asrani, Arun Govil, Debashree Roy, Prema Narayan and Satyendra Kapoor.
Written by Kader Khan, the film’s action was directed by Veeru Devgan. Justice Chaudhury (1983) was a remake of Telugu movie Justice Chowdary (1982) which also starred Sridevi in the same role.
Printed and circulated during a subsequent release of the film (somewhere in the 1980s), this old Bollywood poster was designed for publicity of the film in north Indian theaters but never ended up being used.
This retro Justice Chaudhury poster was originally designed in hand painted oil on canvas format by an art studio in Delhi and features stunning illustrated artwork.
Actress Sridevi is seen in a large hand drawn portrait firing a machine gun. The intensity in her eyes is accentuated with a pink hue. A fight scene is illustrated on the top left depicting Jeetendra wearing a golf cap punching Shakti Kapoor who appears bleeding, while burning flames are seen in the background.
A close up of actor Jeetendra with blood on his face is illustrated on the left, along with a small portrait of actress Hema Malini at the bottom.
Typography used in this original Sridevi poster is entirely in Devanagari Hindi. The film’s title appears in a vintage 3D signboard typeface, standing out against the background in a mix of yellow and red.
The soundtrack album of Justice Chaudhury (1983) was composed by music maestro Bappi Lahiri, while lyrics were written by Indeevar. It featured three hit duets sung by Kishore Kumar & Asha Bhosle: “Mujhe Kya Hua,” “Mamma Mia Pom Pom” and “Sath Mere Aaogi.”
