Rockstar Ranbir Kapoor poster for sale.
Featured here is a rare surviving original Bollywood poster of the memorable musical drama written and directed by Imtiaz Ali that starred Ranbir Kapoor and Nargis Fakhri in lead roles.
Produced by Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision and Eros International, Rockstar (2011) also starred the “Elvis Presley of India,” veteran actor Shammi Kapoor in his last film appearance, along with Piyush Mishra, Aditi Rao Hydari, Shernaz Patel, Aakash Dahiya, Jaideep Ahlawat and Moufid Aziz in supporting roles.
Rockstar (2011) was both critically as well as commercially acclaimed, winning Ranbir Kapoor Best Actor and A.R. Rahman Best Music Director at the 57th Filmfare Awards. The film has attained cult status and a massive fan following over the years, particularly among the youth, making this Rockstar Ranbir Kapoor poster, highly collectible.
Printed and circulated during the first release of the film in theaters (somewhere in 2011), this original Bollywood poster was designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
Bollywood’s top poster designer Rahul Nanda conceptualized this Rockstar movie poster, while Polish illustrator Grzegorz Domaradzki illustrated the artwork in hand drawn as well as digital formats.
This Bollywood poster represents a resurgence of hand painted movie poster art, decades after the industry shifted completely to photographic techniques.
Superstar Ranbir Kapoor is seen in a stunning illustrated black and white close up on the top. A hint of blood is seen dripping from his cheek and his long disheveled hair is seen flying in the wind. The actor appears in a stick figure alongside with his arms outstretched towards the sky, while a hand is seen strumming a guitar on the top of this Rockstar Ranbir Kapoor poster.
A striking mirror image is seen below in which the superstar appears in a romantic pose with Nargis Fakhri. The two images have a bright crimson tint. Typography used in this Ranbir Kapoor movie poster is primarily in English. The title appears in a stunning gold font that seems forged in fire.
The background is a minimal white, making the artwork in the foreground stand out. The iconic release date of the film, i.e. 11th November 2011 is written at the bottom as: 11/11/11.
The soundtrack album of Rockstar (2011) was composed by musical maestro A.R. Rahman, while lyrics were written by Irshad Kamil. It became a rage throughout the nation at the time of it’s release, bagging numerous awards across categories like Best Playback singer (both male as well as female), Best Music Director, Best Lyricist and Best Background score. The album topped the iTunes world charts in 2011 and continued its legacy until early 2012.
The song “Sadda Haq” sung by Mohit Chauhan became a “youth anthem” and is fondly remembered and played till today, inspiring countless memes and motivational quotes on the Internet. “Naadaan Parinde” and “Kun Faaya Kun” sung by A.R. Rahman & Mohit Chauhan and “Katiya Karoon” sung by Harshdeep Kaur were other very popular tracks from the film.
