Beti poster for sale.
Featured here is an actual surviving vintage Bollywood poster of the old 1969 Hindi drama directed by Harmesh Malhotra that starred actress Nanda in the lead role along with Sanjay Khan.
Produced by K.P. Singh and N.P. Singh under the K.P.S. Films banner, Beti (1969) also starred Kishore Sahu, Sulochana, Raj Mehra, Shyama, Rajendra Nath, Shabnam, Asit Sen and Ram Mohan in supporting roles. Actress Sarika was credited as Baby Sarika in the film, playing the younger role of actress Nanda’s character (Sudha).
Beti (1969) was a musical drama that told the tragic story of a woman with a difficult life, highlighting social evils such as dowry and step parenting.
Printed and circulated during a subsequent release of the film (somewhere in the 1970s), this old Bollywood poster was designed for publicity of the film in north Indian theaters but never ended up being used.
This vintage Beti poster poster was originally designed in hand painted oil on canvas format by an art studio in Delhi and features stunning illustrated artwork.
Lead couple Sanjay Khan and Nanda are seen prominently hand drawn in a romantic pose in this Bollywood poster. The actress is seen in another illustration in the background, wearing a white saree.
The background used in this Beti poster uses an interesting combination of white, lime yellow, sky blue and red, making the artwork stand out in contrast. Typography used in this original Nanda poster is entirely in Devanagari Hindi, except for a translation of the title in English and Urdu. The film’s main Devanagari Hindi title appears in white, accentuated with an inner and outer border in yellow and black. An image of the actress dancing is interwoven into the title.
The super hit soundtrack album of Beti (1969) was composed by Sonik Omi, while lyrics were written by Shakeel Badayuni. This vintage Bollywood poster capitalizes on the film’s successful music album with an announcement on the top that reads, “Movie Filled with Music.”
Lyrics of popular tracks from the film are mentioned on the top as: “Lehenga Manga De Mere Babu, Mangwa De Re Chhaila, Aaj Nainital Se” sung by Asha Bhosle & Usha Mangeshkar, “Yeh Kya Kiya Re Duniyawale Jahan Ke Gham Tune Sabhi Mujh Ko De Daale” sung by Mukesh and “Haseen Zulfon Ka Rang De Do, Jawan Rukh Ka Nikhar De Do, Kuch Aur Tumko Haseen Bana Doon, Agar Mujhe Ikhtiyar De Do” sung by Mohammed Rafi.
