This is an actual surviving Bengali movie poster of the 1993 art film directed by award winning filmmaker Mrinal Sen that starred Dimple Kapadia, Anjan Dutt and Tathagata Sanyal in key roles.

Based on a story titled “Badshahat Ka Khatimah” written in 1950 by Saadat Hasan Manto, Antareen tells the story of a woman caught in a loveless marriage who develops a bond with a stranger.

The film was a critical success much like Mrinal Sen’s other films. Antareen bagged the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Bengali in 1993, making this Mrinal Sen poster, highly collectible!

Printed and circulated during a film festival release (somewhere in the early 2000s), this Antareen poster was printed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.

This original Bengali movie poster features a stunning Dimple Kapadia photo prominently. She is seen wearing a saree. Anjan Dutt is seen in a smaller photographic still at the bottom of this Antareen poster.
