Bhai Bhai movie poster for sale.
Featured here is an actual surviving original vintage Bollywood poster of the old 1970 Hindi suspense drama directed by Raja Nawathe that starred legendary actor Sunil Dutt in a double role, while Asha Parekh and Mumtaz played his love interests.
Produced by Ratan Mohan under the R.M. Arts Productions banner, Bhai Bhai (1970) also starred Pran, Mehmood, Jeevan, Aruna Irani, Madan Puri, Mukri, Leela Chitnis, Manmohan Krishna, Iftekhar, Mohan Choti and Asit Sen in supporting roles.
Printed and circulated during a subsequent release of the film (somewhere in the 1970s), this vintage Bollywood poster was designed for publicity of the film in north Indian theaters but never ended up being used.
This old Bhai Bhai movie poster was originally designed in hand painted oil on canvas format by an art studio in Delhi and features stunning illustrated artwork.
Sunil Dutt is seen in two different avatars predominantly in the poster, giving away the double role plot of the film. A striking illustration of the actor holding a whip in his hand while bleeding from his chest is seen at the center. The intensity in his eyes is captured brilliantly by the Bollywood poster artist.
A close up portrait of the actor wearing a hat and holding a machine gun in his hand is seen alongside. Supporting actor Pran is seen below holding a pistol. Actresses Mumtaz and Asha Parekh, who play his love interests are seen in stunning hand drawn illustrations at the bottom on the left and right respectively.
Burning flames and a blue sky is seen in the background of this original Bollywood poster. Typography used in this original Sunil Dutt poster is primarily in Devanagari Hindi, with the title translated to English as well. The film’s main Hindi title appears in an interesting two color combination, with one color used for each word.
The soundtrack album of Bhai Bhai (1970) was composed by Shankar Jaikishan, while lyrics were written by Hasrat Jaipuri and S.H. Bihari. It featured gems such as “Sapera Been Baja” sung by Lata Mangeshkar and “Aaj Raat Hai Jawan” sung by Asha Bhosle.
Bhai Bhai (1970) was remade in Tamil as Karunthel Kannayiram (1972) with Jaishankar in a double role.
