Featured here is an actual surviving original vintage Bollywood poster of the old 1970 Hindi suspense drama directed by Raja Nawathe that starred legendary actor Sunil Dutt in a double role, while Asha Parekh and Mumtaz played his love interests.

Produced by Ratan Mohan under the R.M. Arts Productions banner, Bhai Bhai (1970) also starred Pran, Mehmood, Jeevan, Aruna Irani, Madan Puri, Mukri, Leela Chitnis, Manmohan Krishna, Iftekhar, Mohan Choti and Asit Sen in supporting roles.

Printed and circulated during a subsequent release of the film (somewhere in the 1970s), this old Bollywood poster was designed for publicity of the film in Kolkata theaters but never ended up being used.

This two sheet Bollywood poster measures approximately 60″x40″ inches in size when its two individual sheets are joined or pasted together. The poster comprises two separate single sheets, each measuring approximately 40″x30″ inches in size.

Two sheet posters comprise two separate individual single sheet posters measuring 40″x30″ inches each. When pasted together they line up perfectly and together form one single two sheet poster. In the alongside image, there may be a slight gap visible between the two – as the images of the top and bottom half have been photographed individually and then joined together digitally. When framed or pasted, there will be no gap visible between the two sheets and the appearance of the poster would be seamless – i.e. just like a single sheet poster.

This vintage Bhai Bhai poster was originally designed in hand painted oil on canvas format by an art studio in Kolkata and features stunning illustrated artwork.

Sunil Dutt is seen in two different avatars predominantly in the poster, giving away the plot of the film where he appears in a double role. Asha Parekh and Mumtaz, who play his love interests are also seen on the poster along with supporting actor Pran.

The entire poster uses a brilliant combination of red and yellow, giving it a very catchy appearance. Typography used in this old Sunil Dutt poster is primarily in English, with the title translated to Devanagari Hindi as well. The film’s title appears in stunning yellow at the center, which stands out against a red background.

The soundtrack album of Bhai Bhai (1970) was composed by Shankar Jaikishan, while lyrics were written by Hasrat Jaipuri and S.H. Bihari. It featured gems such as “Sapera Been Baja” sung by Lata Mangeshkar and “Aaj Raat Hai Jawan” sung by Asha Bhosle.

Bhai Bhai (1970) was remade in Tamil as Karunthel Kannayiram (1972) with Jaishankar in a double role.
