Farari (1976) told the story of a bandit ringleader called Sardar (Arun Sarnaik) on the run from the law after a jewelry heist. The police declares a reward of Rs. 5,000 rupees for information that can lead to his arrest, putting up wanted posters all over town. Sardar captures a dance troupe and eliminates it’s head by throwing him off a cliff. To disguise himself and continue his spate of robberies, he puts on a fake beard and assumes the identity of the dead dance troupe leader. Two young captivating dancers called Lata and Lanka are now coerced into helping Sardar gain entry into the homes of the rich and famous.
Printed and circulated during the first release of the film (somewhere in 1976), this old Marathi movie poster was originally designed for publicity of the film in theaters but never ended up being used.
This vintage bandit movie poster was originally hand painted on canvas by noted Bollywood poster painter S. Vilas and features stunning artwork.
Bright red and yellow hues have been used in the design of this old Marathi movie poster, giving it a very striking look. Lead actor Arun Sarnaik is seen in a hand painted portrait, firing his rifle in the air. A group of bandits on horses is sketched below, giving away the theme of the film.
Typography used in this old bandit movie poster is entirely in Devanagari Hindi, with the title appearing in a slanted font in yellow, accentuated with a black border. Set against a vibrant red background, the text as well as the artwork stands out in sharp contrast.
The soundtrack album of Farari (1976) was composed by Ram Kadam.
