Hand painted Hindi movie posters for sale: Faulad Steelman (1963)

This is an actual surviving original vintage Bollywood poster of the 1963 Hindi action drama directed by Mohammed Hussain that starred Dara Singh, Mumtaz and Minu Mumtaz in key roles. Kamran, Kamal Mehra, Shyam Kumar and Randhir played supporting roles in the film.

Faulad featured award winning, worldwide-undefeated wrestler turned Bollywood actor, Dara Singh in the lead role. Five of the leading wrestlers of the world at the time also starred in the film, including Wadi Ayoub, Al-Rod Goa, Randhawa, Saudagar Singh and King Kong. The film was produced under the Broadway Pictures production banner.

Printed and circulated during the debut release of the film in theaters (somewhere in the early 1960s), this old hand painted Hindi movie poster was originally designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.

This Faulad poster was originally hand painted on canvas by a poster design studio in Bombay. Steelman Dara Singh appears in a caricaturish rendition on the top of this hand painted Hindi movie poster. A dramatic scene is depicted where he is captured and about to be dismembered, with each of his hands tied to horsemen pulling in opposite directions.

Lead actress Mumtaz is seen in a large hand drawn portrait prominently below. This hand painted Hindi movie poster is set against a minimal white background. Typography used in this Faulad movie poster is entirely in Devanagari Hindi script. The three tone printing used in its design (black, red and blue) gives this hand painted Hindi movie poster a very vintage and dated look.

The five leading wrestlers that starred in the film, i.e. Wadi Ayoub, Al-Rod Goa, Randhawa, Saudagar Singh and King Kong, are credited on the top along with the rest of the star cast.
