This is an actual surviving rare vintage original Bollywood poster of the 1968 Hindi film directed by Prakash Mehra that starred Shashi Kapoor in a double role.

Babita, Johnny Walker, Ameeta, Manmohan Krishna and Yunus Parvez also starred in this Bollywood potboiler.

Printed and circulated during a subsequent theatrical release run of the film in Delhi (somewhere in the late 1970s), this Haseena Maan Jayegi movie poster was originally designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.

Haseena Maan Jayegi was the first solo directorial project of Prakash Mehra, who would go on to carve a niche for himself in the world of “Bollywood masala movies.”

This vintage Bollywood poster features quirky illustrated artwork. Originally hand drawn on canvas by a Bollywood poster design studio in Delhi, the printed signature of poster artist Amar is seen on the right border.

Two large illustrated close ups of actor Shashi Kapoor appear on the top of this old Haseena Maan Jayegi movie poster. The profiles mirror each other in a somewhat symmetrical arrangement, with a bloody dagger dividing them at the center.

The actor is seen holding a pistol in one of the portraits. His name appears twice on the credits mentioned on the top of this Shashi Kapoor poster, giving away the double role plot of the film.

A quirky illustrated portrait of actress Babita is seen at the center below, while Johnny Walker is seen on the left, hand drawn in green.

Lettering used in this Haseena Maan Jayegi movie poster is completely in Devanagari Hindi. The title of this vintage Bollywood poster is seen written in bright red with a yellow border, with one of the words appearing in black. A soothing shade of sky blue is used in the background.

The soundtrack album of Haseena Maan Jayegi was composed by hit duo Kalyanji-Anandji. The album was a blockbuster hit at the time of it’s release. Songs from the film such as “Bekhudi Mein Sanam” sung by Mohammed Rafi & Lata Mangeshkar and “Chale The Saath Milkar” and “O Dilbar Janiye” sung by Mohammed Rafi are fondly remembered and played till today.

One of the songs from the film, “Suno Suno Kanyaon Ka Varnan” sung by Mohammed Rafi had spoofed lyrics of popular chart toppers such as “Mere Desh Ki Ladki Sona Nigle Nigle Heere Moti.”
