Featured here is an original Bollywood poster of the blockbuster 2008 Hindi film directed by Ashutosh Gowariker that starred Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in lead roles as “Akbar” and “Jodhaa Bai” respectively.

A historical epic based on the 16th century romance between Mughal Emperor Akbar and Hindu princess Jodhaa Bai, Jodhaa Akbar (2008) also starred Sonu Sood, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Raza Murad and Ila Arun in supporting roles. Superstar Amitabh Bachchan lent his voice as narrator in the cult film.

Printed and circulated during the initial release run of the film in theaters, this Jodha Akbar poster was originally designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.

At the São Paulo International Film Festival, Jodhaa Akbar (2008) won the Audience Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Acclaimed fashion designer Neeta Lulla won the Best Costume Design award for the period film at the 56th National Film Awards.
