Mangal Pandey movie poster for sale!
This is an actual surviving original Aamir Khan movie poster of the 2005 historical biopic Mangal Pandey: The Rising.
The film starred Aamir Khan in the lead role as “Mangal Pandey” and was based on the real life of the Indian sepoy who caused The Indian Rebellion of 1857. Mangal Pandey: The Rising was directed by Ketan Mehta and also starred Toby Stephens, Rani Mukerji, Ameesha Patel, Kirron Kher, Coral Beed, Varsha Usgaonkar, Tom Alter & Mukesh Tiwari in supporting roles.
The film marked superstar Aamir Khan’s comeback after a four year hiatus (his last successful venture Dil Chahta Hai was released in 2001), making this Mangal Pandey movie poster, highly collectible.
Printed and circulated during the original first release of the film in 2005, this Aamir Khan movie poster was printed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
Superstar Aamir Khan is seen in his character dressed as a sepoy, running with a sword in his hand. The Union Jack is seen in the background blending with a close up picture of actor Toby Stephens. The title of the film appears in solid gold font in Devanagari Hindi at the bottom of this Aamir Khan poster.
Mangal Pandey: The Rising premiered in the Marché du Film section of the 2005 Cannes Film Festival. The film’s music was composed by maestro A. R. Rahman and lyrics penned by Javed Akhtar. The title song “Mangal Mangal” sung by Kailash Kher is fondly recalled and played till today.
