This is an actual surviving Amitabh movie poster that featured the undisputed “Shahenshah of Bollywood” along with stars such as Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Ronit Roy and Lloyd Owen. The action drama was written and directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya and produced by Aditya Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner.
Printed and circulated during the debut release of the film in theaters (somewhere in 2018), this Amitabh Bachchan film poster was originally designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
Thugs of Hindostan is the first film to feature “One-man industry” Amitabh Bachchan and superstar Aamir Khan together in lead roles. Produced at an estimated budget of Rs. 300 crore, the film is one of the most expensive Bollywood film’s ever made, making this original Amitabh poster, highly collectible!
Thugs of Hindostan is widely believed to be an Indian take on the highly successful Hollywood film franchise, Pirates of the Caribbean. Amitabh Bachchan is seen holding a vintage handgun in this Thugs of Hindostan poster. Aamir Khan appears alongside in a “Jack Sparrow” avatar, wielding a sword. Actress Fatima Sana Shaikh is seen taking aim with a bow and arrow at the top, while smaller still of Katrina Kaif in a dancing pose appears at the bottom. A vintage map and two vintage ships are seen in the background of this Bollywood poster. The colors in the background appear in a beautiful mix of yellow and orange hues. The title of the film appears in a very eye catching vintage embossed font at the bottom of this Thugs of Hindostan poster.
The film’s background score was composed by John Stewart Eduri and songs by music composer duo Ajay-Atul. Shot in Malta, Thailand and Jodhpur, Thugs of Hindostan witnessed a massive release in IMAX, 4DX in addition to normal screens. A special edition of the film edited by Aamir Khan was released in China at the end of 2018.
