Manzil movie poster for sale.
This is an actual surviving rare vintage original Bollywood poster of the 1960 Hindi film Manzil directed by M.K. Burman that starred Dev Anand and Nutan in lead roles.
Released under the Kalpana Pictures banner, Manzil also featured Achala Sachdev, K.N. Singh, Pratima Devi, Krishan Dhawan and Mehmood in supporting roles.
Dev Anand is regarded as one of the most successful actors of Indian cinema. His stellar performance in Manzil as “Raju,” a man who follows his pursuit for music at the cost of his relationships, was appreciated by critics and audiences alike. The film is also noted for S.D. Burman’s music, with many considering it as his finest performance, making this Manzil movie poster, highly collectible!
Printed and circulated during the release run of the film in theaters (somewhere in the 1960s), this vintage Bollywood poster was printed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
This Manzil movie poster was originally designed in hand painted oil on canvas format by a movie poster design studio in Delhi. Lead couple Dev Anand and Nutan are seen in a stunning illustration, with beautiful highlights added over their hair. The picturesque background of hill station Simla is seen in the distance. A cabin is seen set in the mountains.
Dev Anand is seen in an outline rendition along with musical notes, playing the trumpet at the bottom of this Manzil movie poster.
Lettering used in this poster is entirely in English, with a translation of the title appearing in both Devanagari Hindi script as well as in Urdu at the bottom. The typography used in this poster features a very catchy combination of white, yellow and red.
The soundtrack album of Manzil was composed by legendary music director S.D. Burman, while lyrics were penned by Majrooh Sultanpuri. “Ae Kaash Chalte Milke, Yeh Teen Rahi Dil Ke” sung by Asha Bhosle & Manna Dey, and “Chupke Se Mile Pyase Pyase, Kuch Hum, Kuch Tum” sung by Geeta Dutt and Mohammed Rafi became chart toppers at the time of the film’s release.
