Quirky, hand painted old Bollywood poster of the Hindi film Maqsad (1984) for sale.
This is an actual surviving poster of the 1984 film that featured Rajesh Khanna, known as the original (first) superstar of Indian cinema, in the lead role. Printed and circulated somewhere during the release of the film, this hand painted vintage Bollywood poster was originally designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
This poster was originally designed on a hand painted canvas by a small time art studio in Kolkata, making it very collectable.
The poster features a hand painted portrait of Rajesh Khanna alongside the two leading actresses of the film, Sridevi and Jayapradha. The second lead actor of the film, Jeetendra is pictured prominently on the top. The typography used in this poster is Devanagari Hindi.
Maqsad sometimes spelled as Maksad (Aim) is a 1984 Hindi film featuring Rajesh Khanna, Jeetendra, Jaya Prada and Sridevi in the lead roles. This was the third straight movie with Rajesh Khanna and Jeetendra starring together in the lead roles. The film is a remake of the Telugu movie Mundadugu (1983). It was the second highest grosser at the box office in 1984. Amjad Khan, known as Bollywood’s greatest villain, plays a comedian in this film.
