Meri Biwi Ki Shaadi poster for sale.
Featured here is an original Bollywood poster of the old 1979 Hindi romantic comedy co-written and directed by Rajat Rakshit that starred Amol Palekar and Ranjeeta Kaur in lead roles.
Produced by A.V. Mohan and presented under his AVM Arts International banner, Meri Biwi Ki Shaadi (1979) also featured Ashok Saraf, Nilu Phule, Birbal, Baba Naik, Sushila, Ashok Narang, Dilip Kulkarni, C.S. Dubey, Maruti and Janki Das in supporting roles, while Nameeta Chandran made a special appearance in the film.
Shot extensively in Goa, Meri Biwi Ki Shaadi (1979) told the story of a hypochondriac (Amol Palekar) who mistakenly believes he has a terminal heart disease (Angina Pectoris), with only a few months to live. He tries to get his wife (Ranjeeta Kaur) married to another man before he passes away and seeks the help of his best friend (Ashok Saraf) in his search.
Printed and circulated during the first release of the film in theaters (somewhere in 1979), this old Bollywood movie poster was issued for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
This Meri Biwi Ki Shaadi poster was originally designed in hand painted oil on canvas format by a leading Bollywood poster art studio in Bombay called Studio Link.
Two stunning hand painted illustrations of the lead couple appear in this old Amol Palekar movies poster. The foreground at the bottom shows Ranjeeta Kaur leaning romantically on Amol Palekar’s chest, while the two hold a flower together. The background shows a large close up of the couple on the top, with Ranjeeta Kaur resting her face romantically on Amol Palekar’s shoulder.
Typography used in this original Meri Biwi Ki Shaadi poster is primarily in English, with the title translated to Devanagari Hindi as well. The main English title is illustrated in a 3D font in light blue, highlighted with a dark blue border and outlined in red.
The soundtrack album of Meri Biwi Ki Shaadi (1979) was composed by Usha Khanna, while lyrics were written by Ravindra Jain and Asad Bhopali. It featured memorable songs such as “Ram Dulari Maike Gayi” sung by Suresh Wadkar, “Shyam Ki Baahon Mein Radhika Khele” sung by Usha Khanna and “Zindagi Kaise Kategi Aap Se Rehkar Judaa” sung by Lata Mangeshkar.
