Murder in Circus

New Delhi movie poster for sale: Murder in Circus (1971).

Featured here is an original vintage Bollywood poster of the old 1971 Hindi action film directed by A. Salaam that starred Sujit Kumar, Jaymala, N.A. Ansari, M.B. Shetty, B.M. Vyas, Sapru, Bela Bose and Rajan Haksar.

The film is also sometimes referred to as as “Murder in Circus Mein Katilon Ke Katil” (English Translation: “Murder in Circus Inside Murderer of Murderers).

Printed and circulated during the theatrical run of the film in Delhi (somewhere in the 1970s), this old Bollywood poster was made for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.

This Murder in Circus poster was originally designed in hand drawn oil on canvas format by a Bollywood poster design studio in Delhi called King Studio. The printed signature of Bollywood poster painter Amar is seen on the bottom right of this New Delhi movie poster.

Unlike standard Bollywood movie posters, this Murder in Circus movie poster uses a landscape format. A quirky illustration of a woman lying dead with a dagger sticking out from her chest is seen at the center. Actor Sujit Kumar is seen hand drawn on the bottom right while actress Jaymala is seen on the bottom left.

Stuntman and action choreographer turned actor Muddu Babu Shetty (M.B. Shetty) is seen along with N.A. Ansari on the top of this Murder in Circus poster.

Typography used in this New Delhi movie poster is entirely in Devanagari Hindi. The title of the film is painted in a striking combination of yellow and red.

The song “Venus” by Shocking Blue was used in the beginning of Murder in Circus (1971). The soundtrack album of the film was composed by music director Usha Khanna.
