Written by popular Bengali novelist Nihar Ranjan Gupta, Nupur (1958) was a musical Bengali drama that featured classical music and dance at the heart of its plot.
Printed and circulated during the first release of the film in theaters (somewhere in 1958), this vintage Bengali movie poster was designed and printed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
This old Nupur movie poster was originally designed in hand painted oil on canvas format by a poster art studio and features stunning artwork.
Hand painted portraits of the three lead actors are seen prominently on the poster. Typography used in this vintage Nupur 1958 movie poster is entirely in Bengali, with the title drawn in very stylized red font encased in a black box.
The film’s exceptional soundtrack was composed by Ustad Ali Akbar Khan.
