Rare Bollywood movies poster for sale: Shan-E-Hind (1960).
Featured here is an actual surviving original vintage Bollywood poster of the 1960 Hindi drama directed by Mohan Sinha that starred Nigar Sultana, Daljeet and Kumkum in key roles.
Produced by Pratap and presented by Pall Anand, Shan-E-Hind (1960) also starred Hiralal, Shivraj, Mahendra, Ramesh Thakur, Chandrashekhar, Radhika and Kumud Tripathi in supporting roles.
Printed and circulated during the debut release of the film in theaters (somewhere in 1960), this vintage Bollywood poster was originally designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
This Shan-E-Hind poster was originally designed in hand painted oil on canvas format by one of the leading Bollywood poster art studios of Bombay called Pamart.
Master Bollywood poster artist V.G. Parchure’s flair over the paintbrush is seen in striking illustrations of key characters in this rare movie poster. Lead actress Nigar Sultana’s captivating eyes have been hand drawn to perfection in this Shan-E-Hind poster.
Set against a dramatic background, the title appears in a large bold font on the top in white with a red border. Typography used in this rare Bollywood movies poster is entirely in English, with only the title translated to Devanagari Hindi as well as Urdu.
The soundtrack album of Shan-E-Hind (1960) was composed by Sudipto Bannerjee. One of the tracks from the film, “Pehli Baar Mili Jo Aankhen” sung by Geeta Dutt became very popular at the time of the film’s release.
