Bollywood posters hand painted for sale: Teesra Kaun (1965).
Featured here for sale is a rare vintage original Bollywood poster of the 1965 black and white Hindi film directed by Mohammed Hussain that starred Feroz Khan, Kalpana and Shashikala in lead roles.
Feroz Khan was an accomplished Bollywood actor and filmmaker – popularly known as the “Clint Eastwood of the East.”
Printed and circulated a few years after the debut release of the film (somewhere in the late 1960s), this old hand painted Bollywood poster was originally designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
This Teesra Kaun movie poster features stunning hand drawn artwork and was originally designed in oil on canvas format by a poster design studio in Kolkata. Lead star Feroz Khan is seen in a line drawn portrait holding a gun in his hand. A spy maze with a stick figure man at its center is seen in the background of this vintage hand painted Bollywood poster.
The artwork style is very typical to hand drawn movie posters designed in Kolkata. Two colors have been used in the design and printing of this original movie poster. The maze in the background gives away the thriller genre of the film.
Typography used in this old hand painted Bollywood poster is entirely in Devanagari Hindi, with a translation of the title in English at the bottom.
Music of Teesra Kaun was composed by RD Burman while lyrics were written by Anand Bakshi. The album contained memorable songs such as “Achha Sanam Kar Le Sitam” sung by Asha Bhosle, “Meri Saheliyan Byahi Gai Sari” sung by Suman Kalyanpur and “Pyar Ka Fasana Banale Dil Diwana” sung by Lata Mangeshkar and Mukesh.
