A musical thriller, Teesri Manzil (1966) told the story of a young girl called Rupa (Sabina) who falls from the third floor of The Park Hotel under mysterious circumstances. Two eyewitnesses, drummer Rocky (Shammi Kapoor) and dancer Ruby (Helen) performing at The Park Hotel confirm the death to be suicide. However, the plot thickens when Rupa’s sister Sunita (Asha Parekh) claims to have received a letter written by Rupa on the night of her death, professing her love for Rocky and a desperate bid to marry him before society found out about their affair. Sunita sets out to find Rocky to avenge her sister’s death but unknowingly falls in love with him instead. As several twists and turns follow, the real cause of Rupa’s death is revealed as well as the identity of the person responsible for the same.

Printed and circulated during a subsequent screening of the film in theaters (somewhere in the 1970s), this Teesri Manzil 1966 poster was designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
Originally designed in photographic collage format by pasting still photos on a board, this retro Bollywood poster features a striking design. Actress Asha Parekh is seen in a dancing pose in a black and white still photograph on the top, while actor Shammi Kapoor appears in a yellow tinted picture at the bottom.
