Neon movie posters for sale: Zahreelee (1977).
This is an actual surviving vintage Bollywood poster of the 1977 Hindi film that starred Neetu Singh, Shailendra Singh, Jalal Agha and Bindu in prominent roles.
Directed by V.N. Reddy, Zahreelee was based on the story of a museum heist. The film also starred Sharat Saxena (in his debut role), Imtiaz, Purnima, Jairaj and Veerendra in supporting roles.
Printed and circulated during the first release of the film in theaters (somewhere in 1977), this vintage Bollywood poster was designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
This neon movie poster was originally designed in mixed media format by combining both oil on canvas media as well as photographic collage techniques. Bollywood poster designer R. Krishna Swamy is credited with creating the artwork with the printed stamp of Arkey Arts Studio seen on the bottom right.
The title of the film appears in Devanagari Hindi at the top in stunning 3D styled typography in yellow. The entire poster is painted in a bright shade of neon orange, giving it a striking appearance. A stunning large photograph of actress Neetu Singh taking aim from a crossbow is seen prominently in this old Bollywood poster.
A black and white still photo of an action scene from the film is seen a the bottom encased inside a target circle. Close up photos of Bindu and Shailendra Singh are seen in black and white below.
Typography used in this neon movie poster is entirely in English, with only the text on the top appearing in Devanagari Hindi.
The soundtrack album of Zahreelee was composed by Sharda.
