Featured here is an original Bollywood poster of the blockbuster action Hindi film co-produced and directed by Farhan Akhtar that starred the biggest superstar in Indian cinema, Shah Rukh Khan in the titular role opposite Priyanka Chopra.

Co-produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and released under the Excel Entertainment banner, Don: The Chase Begins Again (2006) also starred Arjun Rampal, Isha Koppikar, Boman Irani, Pavan Malhotra and Om Puri in supporting roles. Kareena Kapoor, Chunky Pandey and Sushma Reddy made special appearances in the film.

Shot primarily in Malaysia, Don (2006) was a remake of the cult 1978 film by the same name that starred Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role. The film marked a major milestone in “King of Bollywood” superstar SRK’s career, featuring him in a negative role after a hiatus of over a decade (his last role as a villain was in Ram Jaane in 1995), making this SRK poster, highly collectible!

Printed and circulated during the first release of the film in theaters (somewhere in 2006), this Shah Rukh Khan movie poster was originally designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.

A stunning photograph of superstar Shah Rukh Khan is seen prominently in this Don 2006 poster. He appears dressed in a black leather jacket, wearing dark glasses. The photo is repeated in an interesting mirror pattern behind him twice. Smaller still photos of supporting actors Arjun Rampal, Boman Irani, Priyanka Chopra and Isha Koppikar are seen on the right of this SRK poster.

Typography used in this original Bollywood poster is completely in English, except for a translation of the title appearing in Urdu. The main English title of the film is seen in a strikingly unique overlapping font at the bottom of this Don poster of SRK.

Released on 20 October 2006, the poster announces the arrival of the festive season on the top as, “The Chase Begins Again Diwali/Eid.”

Thanks to the massive success of the film at the box office, a sequel titled Don 2, was released in 2011. Directed again by Farhan Akhtar, the film saw Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Boman Irani and Om Puri reprising their roles. A third installment by Farhan Akhtar is currently underway, with Ranveer Singh and Kiara Advani replacing Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra.

The soundtrack album of Don: The Chase Begins Again (2006) was composed by Shankar Ehsaan & Loy, while lyrics were written by Javed Akhtar. Two cult songs from the original version of Don (1978) were remixed for the album, namely “Khaike Paan Banaraswala” sung by SRK & Udit Narayan and “Yeh Mera Dil” sung by Sunidhi Chauhan.
