Featured here is an actual surviving original vintage Bollywood poster of the 1944 pre-independence Hindi drama produced and directed by K.L Kahan that starred Eddie Billimoria, Rajrani and Alaknanda in key roles.

Released under the Amrit Pictures’ banner, Qatil (1944) also starred Nawaz, Alli, Naseem, Dilawar, Fazlu, Maqbool and Razi in supporting roles.

Printed and circulated during the release run of the film in theaters (somewhere in the 1950s), this vintage Bollywood poster was originally designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.

This Qatil poster was originally designed in hand painted oil on canvas format by a Bollywood poster design studio in Bombay. The printed signature of Bollywood poster painter Kaushik is seen on the bottom right of this lithograph movie poster.

A stunning close up illustration of stylish Parsi actor E. Billimoria is seen illustrated prominently on the top of this old Bollywood poster. A vintage motorcycle is seen faintly in the distance on the left, while a fight scene is seen illustrated below.

The background used in this lithograph movie poster is a soothing gradient of pastel shades mixed with minimal white. Typography used in this original Bollywood poster is primarily in English, with a translation of the title seen in both Devanagari Hindi as well as Urdu at the bottom. The main English title appears in a striking modern font in yellow, whereas the Devanagari Hindi and Urdu titles below are drawn in blue.
