Printed in India during the local release of the film somewhere in the 1980s, this old King Kong movie poster for sale was originally intended for publicity but never ended up being used.

King Kong featured Jessica Lange in her first film role. The film’s success helped launch her career in Hollywood. This 1976 film is the only one in the King Kong film series to feature the World Trade Center towers rather than the Empire State Building, making it highly collectible!

In this original King Kong movie poster, the giant ape is seen painted against the New York City skyline. Despite the fact that the film was a remake of the 1933 classic, the poster announces on the top, “The most exciting original motion picture event of all time.” In the poster, King Kong is seen on top of the two World Trade Center towers, with one foot on each.

It is a remake of the 1933 classic of the same name. King Kong is widely recognized as a landmark amongst monster films. A humongous mechanical prop of the giant ape measuring 40 feet tall and weighing over 6 tons was built to shoot the film – reportedly costing over a million dollars. The film was a hit at the box office and received three Academy Award nominations, winning one.
