Featured here is an actual surviving original Bollywood poster of the 1974 Hindi drama directed by Thakur Karunesh that starred Vinod Mehra and Rehana Sultan in key roles.

Produced by Vijay Bali under the Kusum Picture’s banner, Albeli (1974) also featured Nazima, Sujit Kumar, Mehmood, Nana Palshikar and Uttaraa in supporting roles.

Printed and circulated during the first release of the film in theaters (somewhere in 1974), this Albeli poster was designed and printed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.

This vintage Bollywood poster was originally designed in hand painted oil on canvas format by a leading art studio in Bombay called Seth Studio. The printed signature of the studio is seen on the center right of this old handmade movie poster.

Striking hand painted portraits of lead couple Vinod Mehra and Rehana Sultan are seen illustrated in this vintage Albeli movie poster. Actor Vinod Mehra (considered as one of the most handsome actors of his time) is seen playfully teasing actress Rehana Sultan by poking her cheek in this original handmade movie poster.

Dark and light blue floral motifs are seen in the background, giving this Bollywood poster a vintage retro feel. The artwork is encased in a green box, with the rest of the poster set against a minimal white background.

Typography used in this Albeli poster is entirely in English. The title of the poster is seen in a striking calligraphy styled font in red with a yellow border at the bottom.
