Old Hindi movie poster for sale: Atom Bomb (1947).

Featured here is an actual surviving rare vintage original Bollywood poster of the 1947 Hindi superhero drama produced and directed by Homi Wadia that starred John Cawas in the titular role.

Produced under the Homi Wadia Productions banner and presented by Basant Pictures, Atom Bomb (1947) also starred Sona Chatterjee, Dalpat, Sikandar, Aziz, Vasant Pawar, Radha, Vijaya and Phat Phati in supporting roles.

Winner of the All India Bodybuilding Championship of 1930, John Cawas was a Parsi stuntman turned actor who starred as “Tarzan” in Homi Wadia’s Toofani Tarzan (1937) and subsequent Zimbo series.

Atom Bomb (1947) told the dramatic sci-fi story of a professor (Sikandar) who creates an elixir that can grant superhuman powers to the person who drinks it. An evil doctor (Dalpat) kidnaps the professor’s daughter (Sona Chatterjee) in order to blackmail him into giving up the elixir. Superhero Atom Bomb (John Cawas) steps in to rescue her and win back control of the secret concoction in this vintage Bollywood sci fi movie.

Printed and circulated during the theatrical release of the film (somewhere in the late 1940s), this old Hindi movie poster was printed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.

This Atom Bomb poster was originally designed in hand painted oil on canvas format by an art studio in Bombay and features stunning artwork. Two colors, i.e. yellow and orange are used in the design of this rare vintage Bollywood poster, giving it a very catchy appearance.

Actress Sona Chatterjee is seen in a striking hand painted illustration on the top left. A fight scene appears hand drawn below. John Cawas is seen in his superhero character of “Atom Bomb” on the top right in silhouette, emerging from an explosion of flames in the background. He is seen again in a brilliant depiction at the bottom in a large close up. Actor Sikandar is seen working in a laboratory on concocting the elixir that grants superpowers on the bottom right of this old Hindi movie poster.

The Basant Pictures logo is seen on the bottom left of this Atom Bomb poster. Lettering used in this old Bollywood superhero movies poster is entirely in Devanagari Hindi.

The soundtrack album of Atom Bomb (1947) was composed by A. Karim.
