Featured here is an actual surviving old Bollywood poster of the 1977 Hindi film directed by K. Bapayya that starred Jeetendra and Rekha in key roles.
Produced by D. Rama Naidu and presented under the Suresh Productions banner, Dildaar (1977) also starred Nazneen, Prem Chopra, Jeevan, Jagdeep, Keshto Mukherjee, Shashikala, Urmila Bhatt, Roopesh Kumar, Birbal and Meena T. in supporting roles, while Sujit Kumar, Deven Verma and Raza Murad made guest appearances in the film.
Printed and circulated during a subsequent release of the film (somewhere in the late 1970s), this old Bollywood action poster was originally designed for publicity of the film in north Indian theaters but never ended up being used.
This Dildaar movie poster was originally designed in hand painted oil on canvas format by a Bollywood poster art studio in Delhi and features quirky artwork.
Actor Jeetendra is seen in a striking close up drawing on the right, while actress Rekha appears alongside in a full figure illustration on the left. The actor is seen again delivering a flying kick to villain Prem Chopra at the bottom, while holding a whip in his hand.
The background is a mix of orange and yellow on the right half, while the left appears in blue. Typography used in this Jeetendra poster is a mix of both Devanagari Hindi and English with the main title appearing in wavy font in blue with a yellow border.
The soundtrack album of Dildaar (1977) was composed by hit duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal, while lyrics were written by Anand Bakshi. It featured the catchy song, “School Mein Kya Padhoge” sung by Kishore Kumar.
