Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999) was a love triangle based on the story of a man who discovers that his newly married wife is in love with someone else and decides to unite the two. The film also starred Zohra Sehgal, Vikram Gokhale, Vinay Pathak and Helen in supporting roles.

Shot partly in Budapest, Hungary, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999) was released outside India as, “Straight from the Heart.” The film premiered in the Indian Panorama section at the 1999 International Film Festival of India.
