This is an actual surviving rare vintage original Bollywood poster of the 1973 Hindi film directed by Manu Desai, which starred Faryal, Om Prakash, Sailesh Kumar, Shyam Kumar, Snehlata and Sajjan.
This religious adventure drama was based on the legend of Lord Hanuman.
Printed and circulated during the release run of the film in north Indian theaters (somewhere in the late 1970s), this Jai Hanuman movie poster was printed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
This New Delhi film poster was originally designed using a combination of both hand painted oil on canvas format technique as well as photographic collage by an art studio in Delhi. The signature of New Delhi Bollywood film poster painter Vishnu is seen on the bottom right. A large hand painted face of Ravana is seen on the top left of this New Delhi film poster. Lord Hanuman is seen prominently in a hand painted portrait alongside, carrying a mace in his hand. A black and white photograph of Lord Rama and Sita is seen on the top right hand corner.
Typography used in this old Bollywood poster is entirely in Devanagari Hindi, with the title appearing in blue at the bottom encased in yellow.
