Adventure film posters for sale: Lutera Aur Jadugar (1968).
Featured here is an actual surviving original vintage Bollywood poster of the old 1968 Hindi film directed by D. Raman that starred Jagdeep and Nishi in key roles.
Produced by Pravin and released under the Zubee Films’ banner, Lutera Aur Jadugar (1968) also starred Azad, Tabassum, Meenakshi, Mohan Choti, Sherry and Rajan Haksar in supporting roles.
Lutera Aur Jadugar (1968) was a fantasy adventure that told the story of a princess played by actress Nishi who is snatched by an evil bird from aboard her royal ship and taken to a magical land where she is held prisoner by an evil magician. Her lover played by actor Jagdeep teams up with a pirate played by Azad to rescue her.
Printed and circulated during the release run of the film in north Indian theaters (somewhere in the 1970s), this vintage Bollywood poster was printed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
This adventure film poster was originally designed in hand painted oil on canvas format by a movie poster design studio in Delhi and features illustrated artwork.
The key cast of the film are seen in hand drawn portraits – including Nishi, Jagdeep, Azad, Mohan Choti and Rajan Haksar on the top. Actress Tabassum is seen in a stunning hand painted illustration at the bottom of this old adventure film poster.
Typography used in this Lutera Aur Jadugar poster is primarily in Devanagari Hindi, with the title translated to English as well as Urdu. The English title appears in red, accentuated with a white border against a yellow background on the top, while the Devanagari Hindi title at the bottom is illustrated in yellow against a red background. The credits appear in blue and white.
The soundtrack album of Lutera Aur Jadugar (1968) was composed by Suresh Kumar. It featured the popular song, “Tere Karam Ki Raah Mein” sung by Mohammed Rafi.
