Featured here is an original Bollywood poster of the blockbuster Hindi film written and directed by Aditya Chopra that featured the “King of Bollywood,” SRK in the lead role.

Produced by Yash Chopra, Mohabbatein was Aditya Chopra’s second directorial venture after Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995). Filmed partly in the UK, Mohabbatein (2000) also starred the biggest superstar in Indian cinema, Amitabh Bachchan along with ex-Miss World (1994), Aishwarya Rai.

Six young debutantes, Uday Chopra, Jugal Hansraj, Jimmy Shergill, Shamita Shetty, Kim Sharma and Preeti Jhangiani played supporting roles in the film.

The film was a massive commercial as well as critical success. Shah Rukh Khan won the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor for his role as music teacher “Raj Aryan Malhotra” in the film, while Amitabh Bachchan bagged the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of headmaster “Narayan Shankar.”

Mohabbatein is the first movie to feature the greatest superstars of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan together, making this rare original Bollywood poster, highly collectible!

The three young couples, debutantes Jimmy Shergill & Preeti Jhangiani, Uday Chopra & Shamita Shetty and Jugal Hansraj & Kim Sharma are seen at the bottom of this original Mohabbatein poster. The background is minimal white, with a few maple leaves falling on each side.

Typography used in this Shah Rukh Khan poster is entirely in English. A line at the top announces the plot of the film as: “Some Love Stories … Live Forever.” The title at the bottom features a single maple leaf interwoven into it.

The soundtrack of Mohabbatein (2000) was composed by Jatin-Lalit, while lyrics were penned by Anand Bakshi. It was a blockbuster upon release. Songs like “Humko Humise Chura Lo,” “Chalte Chalte Yunhi Ruk Jaata Hoon Main” and “Aankhein Khuli Ho Ya Ho Band” are fondly remembered and played till today.
