Pyar Ki Kahani poster for sale.
Featured here is an actual surviving original vintage Bollywood poster of the old 1971 romantic Hindi film directed by Ravikant Nagaich that starred the greatest superstar in Indian cinema, Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role along with actress Tanuja.
Produced and presented by Sunderlal Nahata (along with Doondi) under the Vijayalakshmi Pictures banner, Pyar Ki Kahani (1971) also starred Anil Dhawan, Farida Jalal, Bipin Gupta, Madhu Chanda, Praveen Paul, Agha, Prem Chopra, Mukri, Mohan Choti, Gulshan Bawra, Birbal, Yunus Parvez and K.N. Singh in supporting roles.
A remake of the Tamil film Kai Kodutha Deivam (1964), Pyar Ki Kahani (1971) was made during Amitabh Bachchan’s formative years (before he became a superstar), making it highly collectible!
Printed and circulated during the initial release run of the film in theaters (somewhere in 1971), this Pyar Ki Kahani poster was originally designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
This Amitabh old movie poster was originally designed in hand painted oil on canvas format by leading Bombay based Bollywood poster painter, C. Mohan. His printed signature is seen on the bottom left of this vintage Bollywood poster.
A stunning hand drawn large close up portrait of actress Tanuja is seen illustrated at the top center. Smaller side profile portraits of superstar Amitabh Bachchan and actor Anil Dhawan are seen below on the left and right respectively in symmetry. The two portraits stand out in stark contrast against a minimal white background.
Typography used in this Amitabh Bachchan film poster is entirely in Devanagari Hindi. The title of this original Pyar Ki Kahani poster is seen written in red, highlighted with a yellow border.
The soundtrack album of Pyar Ki Kahani (1971) was composed by music maestro R.D. Burman, while lyrics were written by Anand Bakshi. It featured the hit song, “Koi Aur Duniya Mein Tumsa Haseen Hai” sung by Mohammed Rafi.
