Raja Hindustani movie poster for sale.
This is an actual surviving classic Bollywood poster of the old 1996 romantic Hindi film that starred Aamir Khan and Karisma Kapoor in lead roles.
Directed by Dharmesh Darshan, Raja Hindustani (1996) also starred Suresh Oberoi, Archana Puran Singh, Tiku Talsania, Farida Jalal, Johnny Lever, Mohnish Behl, Navneet Nishan, Master Kunal Khemu, Razak Khan, Kalpana Iyer and Pratibha Sinha in supporting roles.
Printed and circulated during the debut release of the film in theaters (somewhere in 1996), this original Raja Hindustani movie poster was printed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
Raja Hindustani was declared an “All Time Blockbuster” and became one of the highest grossing films of the 1990s. The film bagged 5 awards at the prestigious 1997 Filmfare Awards (including the Best Movie, Best Actor and Best Actress awards), making this Aamir Khan poster, highly collectible!
At the time of the film’s release, it had the lengthiest kissing scene ever on screen, featuring Aamir Khan and Karisma Kapoor.
Superstar Aamir Khan is seen in a stunning full length photo on the left of this Raja Hindustani movie poster. He is seen dressed in a black suit, dancing while balancing a bottle of Johnnie Walker (12) whiskey on his head.
Actress Karisma Kapoor is seen in a large close up in the background, with her face partially covered with a dupatta (veil). A black and white photograph of Aamir Khan has been used very creatively to form the letter A in the title below, which appears in red.
Actor Kunal Khemu starred as a child artist in the film. The soundtrack album of Raja Hindustani sold over 10 million copies worldwide, making it one of the bestselling Bollywood soundtrack albums of all time.
Songs from the film, most notably “Pardesi Pardesi Jana Nahi,” “Aaye Ho Meri Zindagi Mein” and “Poocho Zara Poocho” sung by Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayan and Kumar Sanu are fondly remembered and played till today.
The song, “Saala Main To Sahab Ban Gaya” sung by Kishore Kumar and picturized on Dilip Kumar from Sagina (1974), was also used in its original form in Raja Hindustani.
