This is an actual surviving original Bollywood poster of the 1995 Hindi action thriller directed by Umesh Mehra and produced by Keshu Ramsay (of the Ramsay Brothers fame).

Sabse Bada Khiladi (1995) starred Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar in a double role. Mamta Kulkarni, Mohnish Behl, Avtar Gill, Anil Nagrath, Dina Pathak, Gulshan Grover and Sadashiv Amrapurkar played supporting roles in the film.

Sabse Bada Khiladi was the third installment in the “Khiladi” series. The films in this series are unrelated but share two commonalities: They all have the word “Khiladi” in their title and star Akshay Kumar in the lead role. The “Khiladi” film series, in chronological order is as follows: Khiladi (1992), Main Khiladi Tu Anari (1994), Sabse Bada Khiladi (1995), Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi (1996), Mr. and Mrs. Khiladi (1997), International Khiladi (1999), Khiladi 420 (2000) and Khiladi 786 (2012).

Printed and circulated during the initial release run of the film in theaters (somewhere in the mid 1990s), this Sabse Bada Khiladi poster was printed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.

This original Akshay Kumar poster features a stunning combination of both hand painted artwork as well as photographic collage techniques. The superstar is seen in a large side profile hand painted portrait prominently on the top of this Sabse Bada Khiladi poster. A full length photographic still of his appears alongside. Actress Mamta Kulkarni is seen at the bottom.

Burning flames are seen in the background of this Akshay Kumar movie poster, giving it a stunning appearance. A flying helicopter, a Cessna and overturned cars give away the action oriented theme of the film. The title of the film is seen in yellow in English at the bottom in 3D styled typeface.

The soundtrack album of Sabse Bada Khiladi, composed by Rajesh Roshan became a rage throughout the nation at the time of the film’s release. Tracks like “Bholi Bhali Ladki” sung by Kumar Sanu & Alka Yagnik and “Zehar Hai Ki Pyar Hai Tera Chumma” sung by Kumar Sanu are fondly remembered and played tilld date.

One of the songs from the film, “Bharo Maang Meri Bharo,” starring the lead couple Akshay Kumar and Mamta Kulkarni, featured sensual dance moves and was highly controversial at the time. Sabse Bada Khiladi also featured a remake of the smash hit song “Mukkala Muqabla” from the Tamil film Kadhalan (1994).
