Tamasha movie poster for sale.
Featured here is an actual surviving original Bollywood poster of the old 2015 romantic Hindi film directed by Imtiaz Ali that starred Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in lead roles.
Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Tamasha (2015) also starred Sushma Seth, Piyush Mishra, Vivek Mushran and Yash Sehgal in supporting roles.
Printed and circulated during the first release of the film in theaters (somewhere in 2015), this original Tamasha movie poster was printed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
Ranbir Kapoor’s character in Tamsha, “Ved Vardhan Sahni” who struggles with mental health issues (borderline personality disorder), received widespread praise from critics. Despite being an average performer at the box office, Tamasha (2015) has amassed a cult following over the years, particularly among the youth.
At the time of the film’s release, it had the lengthiest kissing scene ever on screen, beating the previous record by Raja Hindustani 1996 (Aamir Khan and Karisma Kapoor).
Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone are seen in a striking photograph at the center, laughing away. The actress is seen holding his waist, while Ranbir has his arm wrapped around her neck. An array of characters dressed in drama attire are seen surrounding them, most notably from the greatest Hindu epics – the Ramayana and the Mahabharata.
Typography used in this original Bollywood poster is entirely in Devanagari Hindi. The title appears in a stunning 3D font at the bottom, while the tagline, “Kyun Humesha Wahi Kahani” (Why always the same story?) is seen on the top. The release date of the film, 27th November, is seen at the bottom of this Tamasha movie poster.
The soundtrack album of the film was composed by legendary music director A. R. Rahman, while lyrics were written by Irshad Kamil. Songs like “Matargashti” sung by Mohit Chauhan and “Agar Tum Saath Ho” sung by Arijit Singh and Alka Yagnik became a rage throughout the nation at the time of the film’s release and are fondly remembered and played till today.
Tamasha was shot in parts in Corsica, France as well as in Tokyo. Due to it’s complicated plot, the film was only moderately successful at the box office.
