Old Malayalam movies poster for sale: Tushaar: The Snow.
Featured here is an original vintage Bollywood poster of the old 1980s dubbed Hindi kidnap and revenge drama directed by I.V. Sasi that starred his wife Seema (Shanthakumari Nambiar) along with Ratheesh Rajagopal and Rani Padmini in key roles.
Produced by N.G. John, presented by Geo Movie Productions and released under the Ramsons Enterprises banner, Tushaar: The Snow also featured Balan K. Nair, Jose, Kundara Johny, Kunchan and Nellikkode Bhaskaran in supporting roles.
Originally released in Malayalam as Thushaaram (1981), the film was dubbed and released in Hindi as Tushaar: The Snow.
Thushaaram (1981) was the first ever Malayalam movie shot in Kashmir, making this old Bollywood poster highly collectible!
Printed and circulated during the first release of the film in theaters (somewhere in the 1980s), this vintage Bollywood poster was issued for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
This Thushaaram poster was originally designed in mixed media format using a combination of both hand painted oil on canvas techniques as well as photographic collage by Bollywood poster painter Vasudeo.
A stunning side profile close up hand drawn illustration of actress Seema (Shanthakumari Nambiar) screaming is seen prominently in this old Malayalam movies poster. A photographic still is seen on the top where the actress is seen being led away by her kidnappers. The picturesque snow capped Kashmir valley is seen illustrated in the background,
Typography used in this old Bollywood poster is primarily in English, with the title translated to Devanagari Hindi as well on the top right. The main English title appears in a 3D font in ice blue highlighted with a black border in this old Malayalam movies poster.
The soundtrack album of Thushaaram (1981) was composed by Shyam, while lyrics were written by Yusufali Kecheri. The film was later remade in Bollywood as Insaaf Main Karoongaa (1985) starring Rajesh Khanna in the lead opposite Tina Munim and Padmini Kolhapure.
