This is an actual surviving original vintage Bollywood poster for sale of the 1960 adventure Hindi film written and directed by Nanabhai Bhatt that starred Azad, Chitra, Shammi, Bhagwan Dada and Nilofer in key roles.
A Wadia Brothers’ production released under the Combine Film Traders banner, Zimbo Comes To Town also featured the chimpanzee, Pedro the “Ape Bomb.” Besides adding humor to the film, Pedro was even trained to perform human-like stunts and featured in action scenes.
Noted filmmaker Homi Wadia modeled his character “Zimbo” along the lines of the popular icon Tarzan, adding an “Indianized taste” to the adventure series.
Printed and circulated during the original first release run of the film in theaters (somewhere in 1960), this rare fantasy movie poster was designed and printed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.

Azad is seen in his character of Zimbo wearing a jungle loincloth made out of animal skin. He is seen holding actress Chitra by the waist in a romantic pose. Music of Zimbo Comes To Town was composed by Chitragupta. The film was subsequently dubbed in Tamil and released as Nagarathil Zimbo (1961).
