Featured here is an actual surviving original vintage Bollywood horror movie poster of the 1972 Hindi film directed by Probir Roy that starred Ritesh, Anupama, Ramesh Deo and Farida Jalal in key roles.
Produced by talented music composer and playback singer Hemant Kumar (Hemanta Mukherjee), Bees Saal Pahele (1972) marked the debut of his son Jayanta Mukherjee with the screen name, Ritesh.
This old Hindi horror movie also starred Vinod Mehra, Iftekhar, Sarita, Mohan Choti, Sabina, Arun, Paintal, Dushyant, Abhi Bhattacharya, Lalita Pawar, Padma Khanna, Jagdev Bhambri, Surya Kumar, Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Gautam Mukherjee in supporting roles.
Printed and circulated during the initial release run of the film in theaters (somewhere in the early 1970s), this old Indian horror movie poster was originally designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
This Bees Saal Pehle poster was originally designed in hand painted oil on canvas format by a Bollywood poster design studio in Bombay. A skeleton is seen illustrated with a spider web in the background prominently in this old horror poster. The background is a bright shade of blood red. Ramesh Deo is seen in a brilliantly illustrated portrait at the bottom right embracing actress Anupama, while a large close up of actor Jayanta Mukherjee (Ritesh) is seen alongside on the left.
Typography used in this vintage horror movie poster is entirely in English, with the title seen in a striking yellow font accentuated with a black border. The credits on the top appear in sky blue, which stands out against the blood red background of this old Indian horror movie poster.
The soundtrack album of Bees Saal Pahele (1972) was composed by music composer and playback singer Hemant Kumar (Hemanta Mukherjee).
