Dial 100 poster for sale.
Featured here is an original Bollywood poster of the old 1982 Hindi crime drama written and directed by S. Ramanathan that starred Vinod Mehra and Bindiya Goswami in key roles.
Released under the Ram Raj Kalamandir banner, Dial 100 (1982) also featured Ashok Kumar, Aruna Irani, Helen, Sujit Kumar, Jagdeep, Asrani, Ranjeet, Shashikala, Shobha Khote, Prema Narayan, Jayshree T., Manorama, Pinchoo Kapoor, Keshto Mukherjee, Asit Sen, Sudhir Dalvi, Mukri, Kishan Dhawan, Birbal and Viju Khote in supporting roles. Danny Denzongpa, Amjad Khan and Mehmood made special appearances in this classic Bollywood crime drama.
Dial 100 (1982) told the story of notorious criminals Rana and Raju (Ranjeet & Sujit Kumar) who murder a wealthy merchant and steal his priceless diamonds. To evade the police, the diamonds are hidden in a singer’s guitar (played by Vinod Mehra), who must now prove his innocence.
Printed and circulated during the first release of the film in theaters (somewhere in 1982), this old Bollywood poster was issued for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
This Dial 100 poster was originally designed in hand painted oil on canvas format by expert Bollywood poster painter Laxman. His printed signature is seen on the center right.
A stunningly realistic hand painted illustration of lead couple Vinod Mehra and Bindiya Goswami is seen on the top. The two are seen passionately gazing into each other’s eyes. The portraits are painted in grayscale. Villain Ranjeet is seen illustrated on the left below, holding a pistol. He is seen again on the right alighting from a helicopter.
The bottom of this Dial 100 poster features a striking illustration of a fight scene between Vinod Mehra and Sujit Kumar. Typography used in this vintage Bollywood poster is primarily in English, with a translation of the title appearing in both Devanagari Hindi as well as Urdu on the center right. The main English title appears in a beautiful slanted 3D font in red, highlighted with a black background.
The soundtrack album of Dial 100 (1982) was composed by “Disco King” Bappi Lahiri, while lyrics were written by Anjaan. It featured memorable songs such as, “Dekhe Tujhe Jo Dekhe” sung by Kishore Kumar and “Koi Kunwara Mara Gaya” sung by Asha Bhosle, Bappi Lahiri & Manna Dey.
