Featured here is an actual surviving vintage Bollywood poster of the old 1986 Hindi action drama produced and directed by T. Rama Rao that starred Jeetendra, Rishi Kapoor and Rajinikanth in lead roles.

Kimi Katkar, Poonam Dhillon and Bhanupriya played love interests of the three stars, while Amrish Puri, Pran and Sowcar Janaki played supporting roles. Kader Khan, Shakti Kapoor, Asrani and Shafi Inamdar made guest appearances in this action packed Bollywood film.

Dosti Dushmani (1986) told the story of three childhood best friends who grow up to be a doctor, lawyer and police officer respectively. Written by Dr. Rahi Masoom Reza and released under the Srinath Productions Madras banner, the film marked the debut of actress Bhanupriya.

Printed and circulated during a subsequent release of the film (somewhere in the late 1980s), this vintage Bollywood poster was designed for publicity of the film in north Indian theaters but never ended up being used.

This old Rajinikanth movie poster was originally designed in hand painted oil on canvas format by an art studio in Delhi and features stunning illustrated artwork.

Jeetendra who plays a doctor in the film is seen on the top left pointing a pistol. Rishi Kapoor is seen in his character of an advocate at the center, while Rajinikanth is seen in his role of a police inspector on the top right, holding a shotgun in his hand. All three portraits appear superbly hand painted, with a high degree of likeness and accuracy.

Actor Shakti Kapoor and Amrish Puri are seen holding guns in two smaller portraits at the center left and right respectively. Kimi Katkar, Poonam Dhillon, Bhanupriya and Kader Khan are seen at the bottom in boxes.

The background used in this Dosti Dushmani poster is fiery red on the top with streaks of yellow, giving away the action genre of the film. Typography used in this original Rajinikanth poster is entirely in Devanagari Hindi. The film’s large title appears in a yellow typeface with a red border, standing out against the background.

The soundtrack album of Dosti Dushmani (1986) was composed by duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal and featured memorable songs such as “Saath Baras Ka Dulha” sung by Shailender Singh, Mohammed Aziz & Kavita Krishnamurthy and “Ithlaye Kamar Band Kamre Mein” sung by S. P. Balasubrahmanyam & S. Janaki.

Dosti Dushmani (1986) was a remake of Tamil film Chakravarthy (1977) which was also remade in Telugu as Mugguru Mithrulu (1985) and in Kannada as Brahma Vishnu Maheshwara (1988).
