Bollywood movie poster of the old Hindi film, Dulhan (1974) for sale.
This is an actual surviving vintage Bollywood poster of the 1974 Hindi drama that starred Jeetendra in a double role opposite actress Hema Malini. Directed by C.V. Rajendran, Dulhan also starred Jamuna, Ashok Kumar, Nazir Hussain, Mehmood, Paintal and Agha in supporting roles.
Printed and circulated during the first release of the film in theaters (somewhere in 1974), this old Bollywood movie poster was originally designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
Dulhan was a remake of the 1972 Kannada movie, Yaava Janmada Maitri, which was earlier remade in Telugu as Sarada (1973) and in Tamil as Radha (1973).
This Dulhan poster was originally designed in mixed media format, using a combination of both hand painted as well as photographic collage techniques. A large face of actress Hema Malini is seen in a stunning over painted portrait prominently at the center of this original vintage Bollywood movie poster. Smaller photographic figures of actors Jeetendra and Nazir Hussain appear alongside.
This Hema Malini poster is set against a minimal white background. Typography used in this Dulhan movie poster is entirely in Devanagari Hindi, with a translation of the title appearing on the top, both in English as well as Urdu.
One of the songs from the film, “Main Dulhan Teri” sung by the “Nightingale of India” Lata Mangeshkar became popular at the time of the film’s release.
