Old school Bollywood posters for sale: Duniya Jhukti Hai (1960).
This is an actual surviving vintage Bollywood poster of the 1960 Hindi drama that starred Sunil Dutt and Shyama in lead roles. Directed by J.B.H. Wadia, Duniya Jhukti Hai was a Wadia Brothers’ Production. The film also starred Daisy Irani, Kumkum, B.M. Vyas and Aga in supporting roles.
Printed and circulated during the debut release of the film in theaters (somewhere in 1960), this old school Bollywood poster was originally designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
Duniya Jhukti Hai was a gripping social drama about a poor man who embarks upon a journey seeking power and wealth after the woman he loves is forcibly married off to a wealthy man. Unwittingly, he descends into a life of crime.
This stunning old school Bollywood poster was originally designed in hand painted oil on canvas format by a leading poster art studio in Bombay called Sahyadri Arts. A beautifully rendered hand painted portrait of actor Sunil Dutt appears prominently at the center of this Duniya Jhukti Hai poster. He is seen holding child actress Daisy Irani in his arms. A large close up portrait of actress Shyama is seen at the bottom. Actress Kumkum is seen dancing on the top of this old school Bollywood poster.
Beautiful brush strokes are seen in the background, bordered by an L shaped arrangement of musical notes. The title of the film along with credits appears in a wave of colors on the top. Typography used in this old school Bollywood poster is entirely in English, with a translation of the title appearing at the bottom in both Devanagari Hindi as well as Urdu.
