Featured here is an old Bollywood poster of the old 1974 mythological Hindi drama directed by Chandrakant that starred award winning wrestler turned actor Dara Singh in the lead role as Lord Shiva.

An adaptation of the story of Lord Shiva as narrated in the old Sanskrit text of the “Shivpuran,” Har Har Mahadev (1974) also starred Jayshree Gadkar, Shahu Modak Padma Khanna, Uma, Aruna Irani, Sujata, Gopi Kishen, Satyajeet Puri, Abhi Bhattacharya, Randhawa, Asit Sen and Babu Raje in supporting roles.

Released under the Joy Films banner, Har Har Mahadev (1974) was one among several mythological movies that featured worldwide-undefeated wrestler turned Bollywood star, Dara Singh.

Printed and circulated a few years after the first release of the film (somewhere in the late 1970s), this Har Har Mahadev poster was printed for publicity of a subsequent release of the film but never ended up being used.

This poster was originally designed on a hand drawn canvas by popular Bollywood movie poster artist/painter G.R. Kareker, and bears his signature on the bottom right hand corner, making the poster highly collectible.

Dara Singh is depicted in a beautiful hand drawn portrait as Lord Shiva, with a snake wrapped around his neck and a trishul on his back.
