Released under the Joy Films’ banner, Hari Darshan (1972) also starred Sujata, Sanjana, Kalpana Diwan, Sadhana Khote, Sarla Dund, Anwari Bai, Rekha Chauhan, Abhi Bhattacharya, Shahu Modak, Asit Sen, Babu Raje, Hercules, Shree Bhagwan, Ram Mohan, Dilip Dutt, Radhe Shyam, Baby Rupa, Ali Akbar, Salim, Sunil, Dinanath, Dalpat and Waseem in supporting roles.

A Hindu mythology movie, the story of Hari Darshan (1972) was based on Bhakt Prahlad i.e. devotee Prahlad and his faith in lord Vishnu.

Printed and circulated during the first release of the film in theaters (somewhere in 1972), this Bhakt Prahlad poster was printed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.

This Indian mythology poster was originally designed in hand painted oil on canvas format by noted Bollywood movie poster artist G.R. Kareker of the Bombay based Bollywood poster design studio called New Cine Service. His printed signature is seen on the bottom left of this Hari Darshan movie poster.

Lord Vishnu is seen in a stunning illustration in his Narasimha (half-man, half-lion) avatar in this old Bollywood poster. A bright halo surrounds his head and he is depicted with many hands. His beloved devotee Prahlad played by Satyajeet Puri (Master Satyajit) is seen seated on his lap. Professional wrestler turned actor Randhawa who plays the evil Hiranyakashipu is seen slain by the half-man, half-lion avatar of Lord Vishnu below.

A stunning illustration of actress B. Saroja Devi who plays Kayadhu (wife of Hiranyakasipu) is seen on the bottom right of this Bhakt Prahlad poster. Typography used in this Hari Darshan poster is entirely in English, with only a translation of the title appearing in Devanagari Hindi. A suggestion of a palace is seen in the background in a gradient of green. The title appears in a striking yellow font on the top of this vintage Bollywood poster.

The soundtrack album of Hari Darshan (1972) was composed by noted music composer duo Kalyanji-Anandji. It featured memorable devotional songs such as “Jai Jai Narayan” sung by Mahendra Kapoor & Lata Mangeshkar and “Karo Hari Darshan” sung by Mahendra Kapoor, which are fondly played in religious festivals till today.
